Crisis Intervention Program (CIP)
Intake provides services to clients who are in an emergency situation due to a financial or health crisis. The Intake social worker assesses the client’s needs and assists them by informing them of available community resources and services both within and outside the Department that may be able to assist them.
The Low Income Energy Assistance Program (LIEAP)
The Low Income Energy Assistance Program (LIEAP) is a program that provides a one-time cash payment to help with the cost of heating for eligible households. Applications are usually taken starting in December.
A household must be subject to the rising cost of heating and be responsible for paying all or a portion of the heating expense. Countable income must be at or below 110% of the current poverty level to be eligible for this program. The household must meet certain reserve requirements.
Emergency Assistance may provide one-time assistance in crisis situations for families with children under age 18.
